At Light's Caution
A spring evening,
coffee black without moon,
plays a chorus of frog
and wind chime.
A small solar light
in the corner
of the garden
guides me to a chair,
and winks its caution
to remain silent.
I take my seat
and give thanks
for its wisdom.
"I give thanks for its wisdom." How I love this! Silence is golden. Or maybe silver, in this case, should the moon show her face.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading here, Susie. Outside in a black moonless night is a setting for spooky goings on. But you steer us right with sound, "chorus of frog and wind chime.
ReplyDeleteWe have none of Nature's sound except for thunder when it storms. But we do hear racing cars and motorcycles about a mile away on Hwy 1463.
..
Nice capture, SC. Salute!
ReplyDeleteOh "coffee black without moon,
ReplyDeleteplays a chorus of frog
and wind chime.
I wish I'd written that and the sound in that video is so. very. soothing.
I love the sound of the chorus of frog and wind chime, Susie, which reminds me of the sounds in our garden – I can’t imagine life without a wind chime. Sadly, our solar light has given up the ghost, so I enjoyed yours this morning.
ReplyDeleteThe coffee black night.. such a great image!
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredibly peaceful piece.
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of the joy of hearing baritone voices in my back yard. I love the coffee black sky and the thoughts of the wind adding more charm tickling the wind chimes.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this, quietly sitting in the garden...
