Blue Sky of My Aquarium
"The Sea Inside" painting by Samy Charnine
Seated in the eye of my aquarium
I am a spectacle drawing stares
from transgressors fishing windows
for reasons to protest.
Plastic tongues spill their pollution
against glass that muffles the noise
into harmless gurgles.
Unaffected by the frenzy of sharks
I cast my eyes toward white clouds
and slip into the dream of a blue-sky ocean.

It is a crazy world out there! It is good to have a place of safety where we can dream of brighter days. A gorgeous poem Susie!
ReplyDeleteI love slipping into a dream of blue-sky ocean.
ReplyDeleteSusie, to me this is a dreamy poem. I think those white clouds helped, very comforting that they are still up there.

Great attitude to adopt Susie! One should not be unduly affected by snide remarks or negative tirades motivated by questionable intentions. Just ignore, yes!

Love this! It keeps turning as I read it and the phrases keep gentling the frenzy of the turns.
