Robbing Starlight

I wanted to wish on a star,
but in man’s assault of the cosmos
it only reached the absent wonder
of a satellite.

Signals pirate dreams from lips,
claim metallic gods know the
will of hearts pulsing through
algorithms.

In the plunder of starlight
I must trust my spirit can see
what my eyes are denied.

  8. I too hope that my spirit can see what my eyes cannot. The brevity of this verse makes it all the more stronger — the metaphor speaks to me in more ways than one. I love it: "claim metallic gods/know the/will of hearts pulsing through/algorithms."

P.s. I apologize for such a long delay in reading and responding to your take on the prompt. :-)
