Brushstroke in Wonderland

In the pristine sparkle

where footprints don’t

mar sunlight or ruffle

the coverlet of new fallen snow

I am a mere brushstroke in wonderland

holding space for poets who need

to fill their eyes with ink.

  1. And Susie, there is still snow enough for all who want to leave their trail.
I grew up in Nebraska and we loved a fresh snowfall so we could play "Fox and Goose," a tag game using paths we would tramp down. Some were pretty clever, all were art work standing out in a field of snow.
